Coming Up

Coming up in about two weeks is the next uploading of a Colgems album. I won't tell you what it is, but I will give you a hint or two.

Several of the band members were friends of Monkee Mike Nesmith.

One member wrote a song or two for the Pre-Fab Four, and later had his own successful solo career.

If inner album sleeves were charted on sales, the sleeve featuring this band's lone album would have gone gold.

Enough clues?

Colgems Mixed Singles

You have spoken, and I have delivered.

The cumulative totals of all the polls related to what I should upload culled from this blog, and Yahoo Groups Theme With No Name and Music Rewind showed that you guys like a mixed bag of things. Thus, I have uploaded a number of singles that were released on Colgems.

I have to tell you I was quite surprised at the poll result, but so be it. In a month, I will upload the second most popular poll result.

Thanks for participating, and enjoy.

It Was 40 Years Ago Today ...

I can't believe it, but 40 years ago today, The Monkees TV show debuted on NBC. I
watched it locally on WNBC-TV channel 4 in New York. There was great buzz about the
show, as "Last Train to Clarksville" was climbing the charts, and the show didn't disappoint
me or any other nine year old kid who watched it.

I can rightfully say that in its own small way, the show changed my life forever.

Any thoughts on the 40th anniversary from your own perspective would be appreciated.
